Metal welding is a process which lets, through the use of heat and electrical discharges, merge different parts of metals.

From steel to aluminum, from iron to copper, almost all metals can be joint through the wide range of metal welding process. The result is the creation of a unique pieces which can reach different shapes, dimensions and weight.

An important but often underrated aspect of this fascinating sector, is the really really high meticulousness, care and passion required to reach the highest levels of precision. The main aim is in fact to create structures, components, finished and semi-finished product without irregularity in the joints. Every single corner,  joint and weld part must to be perfect .

From the high quality welding results depends the well functioning and the best performance of millions of plants, objects and products that everyone of us uses every day.

This is the reason why a metal welding specialist needs to improve his technique and to do practice over the years  before reaching and guaranteeing the maximum performance.

Crucial branch of automotive sector, electric, technologic, mechanical and infinite others, welding sector is developed and became sophisticated over the years.

Kind of welding

As we said, a metal welding specialist boasts skills acquired over the years, but this isn’t enough. Often, to realize special welding and to provide a special finished and semi-finished product, a multifunctional fleet of machinery together with all metal welding specialization are required.

For more information, below there’s a list f the main and most important metal welding techniques.

  1.  MIG or MAG Welding
The MIG (metal inert gas) welding process, developed in 40’s and 60’s is one of the oldest but most known welding technique.
Made possible thanks to the use of heat and electricity, it works through the creation of an arc of electricity that creates a short circuit which lets join sheet metal surfaces.
It’s recommended for both small and big welding requests and where an high flexibility is required.

  2. TIG Welding
TIG welding (Tungsten Inert Gas) within the MIG welding, is the most used metal welding method. Recommended where high quality is a standard, it requires very skilled operators who are able to merge continuous and spot welds through the use of electricity and electrodes. It’s used to weld any kind of metals: from copper, to special alloys, from titanium to steel. Furthermore it’s suggested to merge metal components with thin thickness.

  3. Resistance Welding
The resistance welding process, as the name says, is a technique characterized by the use of electrical resistance. It works thanks to the pressing of the electrodes on the metal surface which lets create the generation of electric discharge. It could be useful to know that the Resistance Welding is recommended for joining thin thickness metal components.

  4. Projection Welding
This particular kind of welding doesn’t work through the classical electrodes. In fact, it requires the presence of embossing on the weld joint points. It’s recommended where a high level of quality is required and also in case of articulate parts to weld.

  5. Robotic TIG MIG MAG Welding
The robotic welding uses innovative and sophisticate robots which let an accurate and rapid operations of metal welding.
It’s characterized by a very high standard and it guarantees homogenous results. This is the reason why it’s recommended for high productivity needs and mass production requests.

  6. Laser Welding
The laser welding technique is used to weld metal components and surfaces through the use of a laser, ensuring a thin and accurate deep weld. It’s the unique welding solution which can realize welding process so meticulous and accurate otherwise unrealizable.
