Metal blanking

Metal blanking on iron, aluminum, copper, stainless steel and special alloy sheet metal.

Minifaber performs metal blanking on iron, aluminum, copper, stainless steel and special alloys sheets with maximum precision and advanced technology. Metal blanking involves shaping sheet metal using punches, which deform and cut, and dies, which give the shape. On this page, we will deepen what metal blanking is, how it works and what service Minifaber can provide.

Metal blanking is a process that requires experience and precision. Minifaber, specialized in sheet metal working, has the know-how, the technologies and the flexibility to carry out blanking operations on iron, stainless steel, aluminum, copper and special alloys.

Metal Blanking: what is it and how it works

Blanking is a metal production process, during which a metal workpiece is removed from the primary metal strip or sheet when it is punched. The material that is removed is the new metal workpiece or blank. The process can be performed on any type of sheet metal where, due to punches and dies, metals are to be separated. During the metal blanking operation, the punches and dies work differently depending on the material and the tool steel ability to cope with the stresses that arise on the cutting edges.

Minifaber performs metal blanking on different metal materials, which we will go into in the next paragraphs:

  • Iron blanking;
  • Stainless steel blanking;
  • Aluminum blanking;
  • Copper blanking;
  • Blanking of Special Alloys.

Sheet metal blanking

In the following paragraphs are listed all the sheet metal blanking processes realized by the company:

Iron blanking

We perform the shearing of iron sheets, a unique material for its irreplaceable technical and mechanical qualities, as well as the most tenacious among all metals.

Stainless steel blanking

For the need for greater resistance to corrosion, for example in the medical and food sector, we perform the shearing of stainless steel sheets.

Aluminum blanking

Light, economical, malleable: thanks to these qualities, aluminum blanking is required in various sectors.

Copper blanking

Where a very corrosion-resistant, magnetic and high electrical and thermal conductivity material is required, we perform the welding of copper.

Blanking of Special Alloys

In addition to the previous materials, our metalworking processes are flexible enough to allow the shearing of other special alloys, such as brass.

Philips Saeco chose Minifaber for its blanking metal operations

Minifaber is specialized in the process of blanking sheet metal and its well-established expertise is recognized at an international level. This is why Philips Saeco, a leader in the home appliances field, has chosen Minifaber to manufacture its INTELIA espresso coffee machine.

Its components were made through the blanking of stainless steel.
