By choosing Minifaber for your metal stamping needs, you rely on a highly skilled and structured company, able to guarantee a high level of customization for both finished and semi-finished products. Each component is developed in close cooperation with our customers, starting from the design stage.
The cold stamping process
The cold metal forming process is a type of fabrication that takes place at room temperature, and is mainly used to produce complex metal parts with very high dimensional accuracy, while ensuring high productivity at low cost. The process is based on a series of steps from virtual die design, to production of the semi-finished or finished product. Specifically, the steps are:
Die design: The first step is the die design. This stage is carried out by Minifaber's in-house design team, which creates the custom-made die according to the customer's specific requirements.
Die making: our die making department makes the die according to the design prepared by the Engineering Department, exploiting state-of-the-art machines and the most innovative technologies.
Material selection: the fabrication material can come in the form of strips (wound in coils), sheets, discs or straps. Special care is taken to verify the mechanical, chemical and dimensional characteristics of the material, in order to ensure stable and repeatable cold sheet metal stamping performance.
Cold metal forming: the metal is plastically deformed to obtain the desired part using a die, a press with its parameters appropriately defined and set, and the most suitable lubricant in the right dose. This ensures consistent quality throughout the cold sheet metal forming process.
Finishing: if required, the semi-finished or finished product undergoes a stage of operations such as deburring, cleaning and washing, coating, galvanizing, and other surface and/or heat treatments after the stamping process.
Quality control: the production process is constantly monitored. Process parameters are kept under control, parts are constantly measured, and the data is recorded to ensure that they meet the specifications required by the customer.
Multiple metal stamping applications
Over time, we have become specialized in many cold metal stamping applications.
Today we design and manufacture:
dies for deep drawing and shearing
progressive dies
transfer molds.
We are now able to perform cold metal stamping for various production sectors, including:
the medical sector
the vending sector
the household appliance sector
food processors using food-contact materials,
as well as the professional lighting sector
A very wide range of applications that has made us a leading player in terms of the variety of service offered, as well as the professionalism and quality that have always accompanied us.
Cold metal forming: what metals can we process?
The materials we work with are all those that can be plastically deformed:
ferrous materials (including coated steel), stainless steel, aluminum and its alloys, and copper and its alloys, such as brass and cupronickel.
Minifaber has in-depth knowledge of metallurgy and pays special attention to selecting and controlling the purchase of these materials, to ensure the best performance in cold sheet metal forming and stamping.
Stainless steel stamping
Stainless steel is among the most suitable metals for cold metal forming. Due to its resistance to corrosion and oxidation, it can be deformed without significantly changing its properties.
Stainless steel stamping can be applied to the fabrication of various components for the most sensitive sectors: from electromedical to food-contact materials.

COMPLETED PROJECTS
Flame diffuser for boilers
In research and development, the client designed a new type of boiler inside which the burner is mounted. This part is the heart of the operation and performance of the entire system. The flame spread must meet certain requirements, otherwise the whole system may not function properly.
The main challenge was to molding the upper part with more than 5,000 holes of extremely small diameter.
